Questions and Answers

They can be divided into three main groups:

  1. Devices that connect to the household electrical network with alternating current and a working voltage of 230 V. This type of charging station can be built into a standard outlet in a home or garage. The duration of a full battery charge can take up to 12 hours. Protection against voltage fluctuations is low or completely absent.
  2. Devices for accelerated charging from a network with alternating current of 230-400 V. These stations have additional protection against voltage spikes.
  3. Fast chargers - rapid charging from a direct current network. This equipment is high-cost, bulky, and has a working power of up to 400 kW.

The standard (according to the manufacturer) charging cycle for batteries from a household electrical network with a voltage of 220 volts and a current of 12 amps takes about 9 hours. 80% of the capacity on a special Nissan charging device (480 volts - 125 amps) is filled in 30 minutes. Most cars operated in our area have a single charging socket, which is generally sufficient.

Such an electric vehicle will charge from a standard single-phase outlet in a home, which is connected to 5 kW (according to the contract with the energy supplier). Charging may take 1-2 days. Keep in mind that the actual output from your outlet may be around 1.5 kW ±. Fast charging refers to direct current charging devices, which require your vehicle to support the appropriate protocols (exchanging data with the charger about the cell charge levels and temperatures during charging). Note that many bloggers and service providers currently recommend charging the battery from these chargers to 80-90% rather than to full capacity, as there is a risk of damaging the battery.
